When are new episodes of Chicago Fire season 11?

What’s the deal with Chicago Fire? The firefighting drama resumed in February, and seemed as though it air for a while uninterrupted, but there was no new episode on Wednesday, March 5. Unfortunately, it’s back on hiatus.

Chicago Fire is going to be off the air for the next couple weeks, and NBC will be airing rerurns of previous season 11 episodes to fill the void. Its never ideal when fans have to wait for new stories but given how recent the last hiatus was, it is especially tough.

The silver lining to all this is that we know when the show is going to come back.

What time does Chicago Fire come on?

This isn’t always the case. NBC will sometimes promote a new episode without providing a clear return date or even a promise as to which month it will air. There’s no such issue here:

Chicago Fire will return with a new episode on Wednesday, March 22.

The promo for the upcoming episode teases an intense standoff between a young girl and a man with a gun. A couple of firefighters enter the residence to help: Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), Sam Carver (Jake Lockett), and Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), but they too are put in danger the perpetrator starts pointing the gun at them.

This is not going to be a light episode by any means, and given the presence of Kidd and Carver, one wonders if the duo’s recent experience surviving a house explosion will make things even tougher for them. Perhaps even lead to some sort of PTSD manifesting.

Hopefully the episode sheds additional light on Cindy Herrmann (Robyn Coffin), who is sill undergoing chemo treatments, and Carver’s recently uncovered relationship with Lt. Wendy Seager (Andy Allo). Developing these plot threads, which have been introduced in the last handful of episodes, would definitely be of interest to the viewers.
