The NBC firefighter series wraps up its first decade with the long-awaited wedding of Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney). Despite Chicago Fire season 10 ending on a high note, things might quickly get tricky for Chief Boden’s (Eammon Jacobs) team when it returns for season 11.
There were a lot of changes to Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire season 10. For starters, Lieutenant Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) left Chicago and relocated across the country to Portland, Oregon, to care for his fallen best friend’s kids, meaning Kidd ultimately took the vacated spot as the Truck 81 leader. Meanwhile, Ambulance 61 also underwent personnel changes after Brett (Kara Killmer) decided to take an extended leave to be with Casey. This left Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) having to deal with the conniving Emma Jacobs (Caitlin Carver).

Chicago Fire Season 11 Renewal
As one 0f the most popular shows on NBC, the broadcaster awarded Chicago Fire a three-season renewal towards the end of season 8 in February 2020. This has guaranteed the Dick Wolf-produced NBC series’ ninth, tenth, and eleventh seasons. So, unlike many series waiting for a yearly renewal or cancelation decision, Chicago Fire has been assured that it will run until season 11, at the very least.
