Is a new episode of Chicago Fire on tonight? (December 14)

Wednesdays are supposed to be all about the One Chicago lineup. What’s going on tonight? Is Chicago Fire new on Wednesday, Dec. 14?

With the way things ended in the previous episode of Chicago Fire, fans want to get stuck into a new episode immediately. A character we love to hate returned, and it’s clear this isn’t the last time we’ll see her.

On top of that, Kidd and Carver were in the house when the grenade went off. It looked like they took cover in time, but we know how these things can do. We need answers right now, but we’re not going to get them.

There isn’t a new episode of Chicago Fire on tonight, Wednesday, Dec. 14. There is a big reason for the cliffhanger at the end of the episode.

When will Chicago Fire return with new episodes?

The previous episode was the fall finale. That cliffhanger was designed to draw us back in once the show returns from its winter break. Just how long is that break going to be?

NBC delivered some good news back in November. We got the return dates, and there isn’t long to wait for the return of Firehouse 51. Chicago Fire, along with the rest of the One Chicago lineup, will return on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The Fire episode will air at the usual time of 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Is there at least a rerun on tonight? This is where we have some more bad news. NBC has a Christmas special of Saturday Night Live in the first two-hour block of the night instead of reruns of Med and Fire. There’s not even a rerun of PD, with That’s My Jam airing a rerun instead. NBC is in its winter schedule right now, with specials airing throughout the season.
