Blue Bloods’ Baez star sparks fan support after emotional tribute to late family member

Blue Bloods star Marisa Ramirez has been supported by fans as she paid tribute to her late grandmother.

The actress, best known as Detective Maria Baez on the CBS series Blue Bloods, shared a heartwarming photo of her grandmother holding her daughter, Violet Rae, as she reflected on the impact she’s had on her life. In the photograph, Stella was seen sitting comfortably on a lounge chair, with her arms around Violet. Violet is in front of her, smirking while her mother takes the picture.

Stella passed away in October 2020, with Ramirez keeping her memory alive with sweet posts marking notable dates ever since on social media.

“Happy Heavenly Birthday Grandma Stella!!!” Ramirez wrote in the Instagram caption.

“I knew there was a reason I just got completely choked up while driving. Life is just hard without her light!”

She followed it with a quote from Janet Jackson song ‘Together Again’, adding: “Dancing in moonlight. I know you are free ‘cause I can see your star shining down on me.” (sic)

Fans were quick to send their support for the star, noting they could see the resemblance between the matriarch, Ramirez, and her adorable six-year-old.

“I see your face and your daughter’s face in her!” wrote one fan, while another added: “Your mini me is super cute!!”

Others shared their support on a difficult day, noting the “heavenly birthday” and sending their well wishes.

“Be sure she is watching over you from heaven and illuminating you with her light,” one fan stated.

“Your Beautiful daughter looks like you.. Very Blessed with her Grandma Stella,” said a fourth.

Blue Bloods has been a long-standing favourite crime procedural for US audiences, starting in 2010 with Tom Selleck leading the all-star cast.

At the end of March 2023, it was confirmed the show would be back for its staggering 14th season.

However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, series producers and some cast members have taken a 25 percent pay cut in order to keep the show on the air and the production team employed.
