Action man! Donnie Wahlberg totes a prop gun as he shoots high-energy stunt scenes for his hit TV series Blue Bloods in NYC

In the 1990s, it was his energetic dance moves as one-fifth of New Kids On The Block that made him break a sweat.

But now the 44-year-old is getting a workout of a different kind as gets into character for his role as an NYPD detective in his acclaimed drama Blue Bloods.

The star looked like a force to be reckoned with as he fired a gun at a masked man on the New York City set on Monday.
Wearing a dark suit over a striped shirt and grey tie, Donnie was seen jumping on the back of a moving truck, as he shot scenes under the Manhattan Bridge.

Donnie, older brother of rapper-turned-actor Mark Wahlberg, was also photographed running at high speed as his character attempted to apprehend a criminal.

The actor was joined on the set by co-star Marisa Ramirez.
Away from the set of his TV series, Donnie has been very busy at home, as he prepares to wed fiancée Jenny McCarthy.

In May, the couple had trouble deciding on whether to elope for their nuptials or stay in New York, but one thing they have agreed on is the venue size.

Donnie told Us Weekly: ‘I’d like a small wedding. A perfect wedding for me would be Jenny, myself, and our three boys.’Jenny added: ‘It would be this year or next year. We like the idea of getting away on a vacation, but we also like the idea of keeping it local.’

When asked if they may elope, the blonde beauty replied: ‘We haven’t decided yet.’

However, the 41-year-old admits she’s already got lots of plans for her big day lined up if they don’t hold their wedding in a different country.

‘Andy [Cohen] would officiate if we’re not eloping! [I’d also] like to write my own vows.’

The former Playboy Playmate also revealed she wants to keep her dress more traditional.

‘I love that pink has been done, but I can’t do it,’ she told People magazine. ‘White is a little too white. Ivory I think possibly, for my age.’

And while she has yet to try anything on for her big day, she already knows what she doesn’t want.

‘Not Vera Wang. I’m so tired of everyone saying Vera Wang,’ before adding one last requirement: ‘No ballgowns!’
