5 facts about Kofi Kingston, the Ghanaian-born WWE world champion

 Mensah Kofi Kingston has defied all odds to become the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE)’s newest world heavyweight champion.

Kingston achieved the feat by defeating Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 35 on Sunday, April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Known to be a Ghanaian, Kingston’s win has been well-received in Ghana.
1. Birth:
Kingston was born in Kumasi on August 14, 1981, to Elizabeth and Kwasi Sarkodie-Mensah. He was christened Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah. Kofi had a brother, Kwame, and a sister Nana Akua, who passed away in 2015.


2. Education:
Kofi and his family moved to the United States when he was young and they settled in Massachusetts where he attended Winchester High School. After high school, he got a degree in communication from Boston College.
3. Wrestling career:
