What To Expect From Wednesday Season 2

An impressive Wednesday Addams cosplay brings Jenna Ortega’s macabre character to life from the hit Netflix show, and the getup even includes Thing.

Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday comes to life in an impressive new cosplay, which even includes Thing. First airing on Netflix last year, Wednesday serves as an origin story of sorts for Wednesday Addams, the iconic Addams Family character. The show was a big hit for the streamer, with Ortega’s performance garnering particular praise and birthing a series of viral trends.

Now, as the wait for Wednesday season 2 news continues, lacrymastory on Instagram has shared her impressive new cosplay of Ortega’s lead character. Check out the cosplay below:

Opting to give Wednesday a latex rendition of her iconic outfit, the cosplayer even has Thing perched on her shoulder, which appears to have been pulled off with some nifty photo editing skills.

What To Expect From Wednesday Season 2

Season 1 landed on Netflix about one year ago, earning mostly positive reviews overall from critics, but clearly striking a major chord with audiences. After weeks of topping the streamer’s popularity charts, Netflix announced in January that Wednesday season 2 was officially on the way. No release date was shared, but the now-concluded WGA and still ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike have surely caused some significant delays, with late 2024 or some point in 2025 now seeming most likely for the show’s return.

As far as story details go, nothing has been revealed just yet, but the Wednesday season 1 finale could provide some indication of what’s to come. The finale sees Wednesday unravel season 1’s central mystery, finding out that Christina Ricci’s character, Miss Thornhill, has actually been behind the evil doings at Nevermore Academy. Although defeated, Miss Thornhill seemingly remains alive at the end of season 1, meaning a season 2 return isn’t out of the question.

The season 1 ending also teases that Wednesday has a new stalker, with Ortega’s character receiving creepy text messages, including one that says, “I’m watching you.” It’s not clear who the mysterious texter is, but this could be the basis for the mystery that Ortega’s character must solve in season 2. While there’s been no confirmation regarding which members of the Wednesday cast will return, it’s likely that, in addition to Ortega’s heroine, Thing and Enid (Emma Myers), at the very least, will be making comebacks.
