“We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history”: Yellowstone Actor Makes the Boldest Claim About Season 5 Despite Kevin Costner’s Exit from the Show

It’s not uncommon for universally acclaimed shows to drop the ball with their ending, as apart from a few notable exceptions, the ending often fails to give a satisfying conclusion to the fans. However, in Yellowstone‘s case, which has remained the undisputed king on the small screen since its debut back in 2018, Ian Bohen stressed the acclaimed show will avoid such setbacks.

With the Taylor Sheridan-led drama set to end with its second half of season 5, Bohen, who plays Ryan on the show, assured fans to brace themselves for one of the best conclusions to a series.

While the backstage drama between Kevin Costner and the creatives, which led to his departure from Yellowstone, had fans concerned, Ian Bohen has some positive words on the show’s state. Bohen assured fans the Western will not drop the ball with the second half of season 5 and its finale, promising, “It’ll be worth the wait”.

“She’s very close to a deal”: Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone Spin-off Reportedly Eyeing Marvel Star to Lead as Matthew McConaughey is Still Undecided
Moreover, the Teen Wolf star even went as far as to claim that this might be the best series finale of all time, which is bold, but following Taylor Sheridan‘s skills, it might not be too far-fetched.

“I don’t know that any show has finished this strongly ever. We’re expecting to have the best series finale in history. Overconfident maybe, but I think that’s what it’s going to be. We thank everyone for their patience… It’ll be worth the wait, I promise.”

While time will tell if the finale could go toe to toe with the likes of Breaking Bad‘s Felina or Mad Men‘s Person to Person, at the very least, fans can expect a satisfying conclusion to the acclaimed Western.

Kevin Costner Thought He’d Make Seven Seasons
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Costner gave a detailed explanation regarding the Yellowstone situation. The Waterworld star, who tuned out of the show following scheduling conflicts and failed negotiations with the studio higher-ups, stressed that he’d have loved to stay in the Western longer, stating that he initially thought he was going to make seven seasons.

He said:
“I’d like to be able to do it but we haven’t been able to … I thought I was going to make seven [seasons] but right now we’re at five. So how it works out — I hope it does — but they’ve got a lot of different shows going on. Maybe it will. Maybe this will circle back to me. If it does and I feel really comfortable with [it], I’d love to do it.”

Even if Costner did agree to Paramount’s demands, per Puck, Sheridan might not be interested in reopening his finished scripts to accommodate a more suitable send-off for John Dutton.
