The Woman Claims She Lived In Gerry’s Lake House
Gerry and Carolyn, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, became friends after meeting at the Davenport mental health community. However, the pair grew very close after Toni passed away, and Gerry asked Carolyn if she could help him donate Toni’s corporate wardrobe to “Dress for Success.” Gerry took Carolyn to dinner as a thank you, and their relationship turned romantic soon afterward, with Gerry allegedly telling Carolyn via text message, “You are the right woman for me. No need to look further.” After months of exchanging text messages, Carolyn claims she soon found herself falling for Gerry.
The woman, identified as Carolyn, would drive five hours to spend romantic weekends with Gerry at his dream house. After almost a year of persuasion, Carolyn claims she gave up her settled life in Iowa and moved in with Gerry with promises that he would marry her. Gerry even persuaded her to leave her job and get a new one close to their lake house. Carolyn reportedly got an accounting job with a company in Fort Wayne, an hour’s drive from the home. An examination of Carolyn’s mail also showed that the home was listed as her primary address after she moved in during the last weekend of July 2018.

After moving in with Gerry, Carolyn claim she noticed a change in his behavior. Gerry told Carolyn, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, that she would contribute to the house expenses, and she agreed to pay $850 per month. Gerry told Carolyn they would only order Dutch on all meals except on special occasions, and he was also very particular about his cleanliness, allegedly asking Carolyn to make the bed before breakfast. All the lifestyle changes and stress made Carolyn gain 10 pounds, and her new weight reportedly became a problem when she was packing for Gerry’s high school reunion scheduled for October 2019.
She alleges that Gerry refused to take her to the reunion, noting, “I’m not taking you to the reunion looking like that,” pointing to her body. Gerry subsequently broke up with Carolyn and told her to leave their lake house by January 1, 2020. Although Gerry promised to cover her moving expenses, an injury to Carolyn, who fell down the stairs, resulted in Gerry allegedly sending her to a hotel after claiming she wanted to use the injury as an excuse to stay longer and sue him. The woman identified as Carolyn’s recollection of Gerry is almost the opposite of the man who stole the hearts of many on The Golden Bachelor.
