Before the star of the Fifty Shades Of Grey series became a victim, the online community was “in an uproar” over a series of nude photos of Kristen Stewart, which were widely circulated earlier this week.
The Twilight actress quickly responded by having her lawyer send a strong warning to many websites that illegally posted her photos.
Gossip Cop is also currently in contact with Dakota Johnson’s representative to see if she intends to take similar action.
Many other celebrities who have found themselves in similar situations have also been quick to let the law get involved. Some of the names that come to mind include Tiger Woods, Lindsey Vonn and Katharine McPhee.
Woods’ attorney called the cyberattacks a “vicious invasion” and assured Gossip Cop : “We will make any website that seeks to exploit or encourage this outrageous behavior pay the price.”
Dakota Johnson’s new photo series includes some solo shots of her and others topless with friends at a pool, along with one of her swimming with actress Addison Timlin. It’s unclear whether hackers broke into Johnson’s or Timlin’s phones.
The incident reminds people of a similar situation that happened in September 2014, when hackers released a series of nude photos of hundreds of female stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley Cuoco and Kate Upton.
