See the Friends cast before they were famous in this hilarious throwback photo

Friends has been there for us whenever we’ve needed it: when the rain has started to fall and when we’ve needed to spend our Sundays binge-watching an entire season on Netflix.

So, to return the favour for our devotion to the sitcom, Netflix has shared a properly amazing throwback photo of the cast on Instagram.

Presenting us with “The one where they all go back to high school”, this collage of the Friends’ school photos has made our day, our week, our month and even our year.

Yes, in case you hadn’t noticed, the iconic ’90s series is now available to stream on Netflix UK – and while that might sound like great news, not everyone is enjoying the show.

It’s hard to believe that there’s a generation out there who didn’t grow up with the cult classic, but they did, and they’re actually finding it pretty offensive.

Yep, upon (re)viewing Friends with a fresh pair of 21st century eyes, some viewers of the show have hit out at it for being “homophobic and misogynistic”, as well as for fat-shaming.

“I was a uni student in the 90s so looked forward to rewatching Friends on Netflix over New Year. But I agree – the ‘fat Monica’ and ‘gay Chandler’ ‘jokes’ feel very out of place now,” one viewer wrote.

“And was Joey *always* that bit creepy? Disappointing.”

Another added: “There is nothing I hate more than Ross in the male nanny episode of Friends. He is SO SEXIST AND HOMOPHOBIC and I just want to jump into the tv and strangle him.”
