Samantha Mathis, cast members of ‘The Nanny’ set for NorthEast Comic Con

Cast members of “The Nanny” and the onscreen girlfriend of Christian Slater in “Pump Up the Volume” and “Broken Arrow” are some of the big celebrity guests that will be meeting with fans at this weekend’s NorthEast Comic Con & Collectible Extravaganza.
Created by Gary Sohmers — an appraisal expert of pop culture, collectibles and toys for 13 years on the PBS series “Antiques Roadshow,” and entrepreneur of the legendary Wex Rex Collectibles Hudson — NorthEast Comic Con & Collectible Extravaganza takes place 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 10; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, March 11; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 12 at the Boxboro Regency Hotel.

Celebrity guests include Charles Shaughnessy, Lauren Lane and Nicholle Tom, all from “The Nanny”; Samantha Mathis, star of “Pump Up the Volume,” “Broken Arrow” and “Super Mario Bros.”; Melanie Chartoff, star of “Fridays,” ABC’s late-night live comedy show in the early ‘80s; Charlie Schlatter,” star of “Diagnosis Murder,” Roger Kabler, who does a Robin Williams tribute; and Gigi Edgley (Chiana on “Farscape”).

Comic book artists, writers and editors include: award-winning animator Bill Plympton, Joe St. Pierre (“Spider-Man”), Jim Salicrup (writer and editor of Topps Comics and Stan Lee Media), Keith Champagne (DC Comics, “Stranger Things”), Keith Williams (assistant editor on the “Spider-Man” group of books), Ken Wheaton (“Futurama” and “Bart Simpson” comics), nine time Hugo Award-winning artist Bob Eggleton and Will Murray (“Squirrel Girl” co-creator) are some of the comic and animation artists on the bill.


The Northeast Comic Con and Collectible Extravaganza will also feature children’s activities, celebrity autograph signings, panel sessions, after parties, plus more than 100 vendors.

General admission tickets for adults are: $18 for Friday; $25 for Saturday; $17 for Sunday; and $40 for all three days. G.A. tickets for children are: $10 for Friday or Sunday; $15 for Saturday; and $25 for all three days. And VIP packages are $22 for Friday; $28 for Saturday; $20 for Sunday; $50 for all three days. Admission for one child, 10 and under, is free with each paid adult.
