Grey’s Anatomy fans blast ‘unnecessary’ hiatus and are ‘losing interest’ as sporting event airs instead of new episode

ABC’s medical drama, its spinoff show Station 19, and 9-1-1 won’t be airing at all on Thursday.

That’s because the 2024 NFL Draft is premiering.

The distinguished sports event will run from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Since the special occasion’s timeframe conflicts with Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, and 9-1-1, all three programs will be paused this week.

Station 19 pulls up the rear, normally airing each Thursday from 10:00-11:00 p.m. EST.

While the NFL Draft is a major occurrence each year, plenty of people have taken to social media to rant about it interfering with Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19, and 9-1-1.

TV fans vented on X, fka Twitter, and Instagram that they were tired of all the mini-hiatuses each respective show has been taking this season.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, a fan added: “When shows start doing that I loose interest real quick. They over doing it. We already waiting a year for season 20.”

I’ve been a fan since the beginning but all this waiting is making me lose interest in the show”

9-1-1 was in the hot seat, just like Grey’s Anatomy and its spinoff Station 19 was.

Fans developed a strong attachment to 9-1-1 throughout its six-season run on ABC.
