Friends was somehow still the most binge-watched TV show of 2018

Despite there being enough new content on TV to sink a ship/feed an army/what-have-you, Friends was still the most binge-watched television show of 2018.

According to a new study from TV Time (via Variety), Friends had the highest share of binge sessions over the course of the year, based on its analysis of 12 million registered users worldwide of its app for tracking, commenting on and voting for TV shows.

Friends is available in its entirety – 10 seasons – on Netflix, which will explain why so many people are binge-watching it.

In second place on the most binge-watched list is Grey’s Anatomy, followed by Netflix original 13 Reasons Why in third.

Other shows to make the cut are Riverdale, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Orange Is the New Black and The 100.

Friends, Netflix – 2.36%
Grey’s Anatomy, ABC/Netflix/Hulu – 2.07%
13 Reasons Why, Netflix – 1.69%
La Casa de Papel/Money Heist, Netflix – 1.69%
Riverdale, CW/Netflix – 1.68%
Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fox/NBC/Hulu – 1.40%
The 100, CW/Netflix – 1.25%
Orange Is the New Black, Netflix – 1.19%
The Big Bang Theory, CBS – 1.16%
Pretty Little Liars, Freeform/Netflix – 1.06%

It was reported in October that Warner Bros was going to pull Friends from all streaming services in 2019 because it plans to launch its own standalone service in the near future.

However, the Holiday Armadillo later brought good tidings to fans in both the US and the UK, confirming that Friends will still be on Netflix next year.
