McAllister and Mondler’s ultimate mashup may have been discovered
A primetime TV Easter egg may have been discovered, linking the fictional McCallister family from Home Alone and the cast of Friends.
Earlier this week, an Instagram user named Scott Westwood posted an explainer on the platform with the theory that “Chandler and Monica from Friends have moved into the McAllister house from Home Alone.”

The video has racked up an impressive 14.4 million views (and counting) since it went live and even caught the attention of a user named Daren Janes, who said he’s a video director. The sitcom’s art director is based in New York City.
“This is funny. You got me,” Janes commented.
“I am the Artistic Director of FRIENDS and the house is a set. The actors walked in the front door, so we saw the outside,” Janes continued. “We used support from a company called Pacific Studios, which produced Home Alone because it looks best through doors and windows. My friend has amazing eyes!!!!”

“We were in the house almost the whole time, about four or five months,” she said at the time.
She recalled Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin McCallister, “[using] my room to study with his tutor and his brother [Keiran], not filming much so he just hung out in my room .”
Abendshien said it was “surprising” that her family home was affected so many decades later.
