Days of Our Lives Recasts Sloan Again? Wait… What?!?

Yes, Natasha Hall is back as Days of Our Lives’ Sloan! As Jude’s christening has kicked off, fans have surely noticed that Sloan is looking a bit different once again. Hall first stepped in the week of March 4, taking over for Jessica Serfaty who’s played the role since her debut back in 2022. We knew, though, at the time, as Soap Opera Digest reported, that Hall would only be playing the role temporarily for three episodes.

We, however, only got to see one of them! The rest of the episodes are apparently airing for the christening. Confused? Soap operas don’t necessarily shoot in order, as it can depend on who is in a scene and who’s available on set that day. Jude’s christening has more moving parts than usual, so it may have just come down to everyone being there when Hall was subbing in for Serfaty.

No reason was given for the sudden change that had Hall, whose credits include The Kominsky Method, The Rookie, SEAL Team, S.W.A.T., Mom and Entourage stepping in, but yes, this is still just part of that initial switch.
Hall was clearly thrown right into the deep end, given how heavy Sloan’s story is at the moment. Which is surprising to those of us who sort of assumed, when first the character was introduced, that she’d only be sticking around Salem for a few weeks.

But thankfully, the show saw what they have in Serfaty and began giving her more and more story. Ok, sure, we probably could have done without the storyline which saw Sloan’s troublemaking (and generally creepy) brother, Colin, coming to Salem. But along the way — and before finding love, or something like it, with Eric — she got to have a steamy affair with Alex, tried punishing Chanel and Paulina for her late dad’s death, and exchanged witty barbs with Leo.

For those thinking that Serfaty might have missed shooting the big reveal at the christening that Jude is actually Nicole’s son, the actress herself had some cold water to thrown on that theory when Days of Our Lives shared their weekly preview on Instagram.
When David Ortiviz commented on the video, he gleefully anticipated Sloan getting what’s coming to her at the christening. “Watch out Sloaney Baloney,” he wrote, “the truth is coming out.” But then Serfaty jumped in with, “Is it, though?”

Oh, we guess not! But we also suppose that’s good, because as great as Hall has been filling in, it would be a downright shame if Serfaty wasn’t there to play the big reveal.

Fortunately, she’s got a great sense of humor about the whole thing, as one of the first comments on the weekly preview came from a very tongue-in-cheek Serfaty writing, “I love Sloan this episode. Something is definitely different though… if only I could…”

We see what you did there! Given the hard work Serfaty has done in creating the character and seeing her through this tumultuous time, we’re glad that this recast is only temporary, meaning she should be front-and-center as the drama unfolds!
