Chicago Fire has been on the air for 11 years now, and it still keeps attracting new fans with each and every season. This drama TV series was created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas for NBC, and premiered in October 2012. Throughout its episodes, it explores the personal lives of the firefighters and paramedics of the Chicago Fire Department’s Firehouse 51, while allowing the audience to experience firsthand their daily life-saving work. Chicago Fire has aired over 200 episodes, and is currently in its 11th season, with no news yet on a possible renewal.Chicago Fire kicked off the Chicago franchise, also known as One Chicago, which focuses on the lives of Chicago’s public service workers. Said franchise features, so far, two additional productions: Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, which have reached their tenth and eighth seasons, respectively. In 2017, One Chicago also launched Chicago Justice, but this production was canceled after a single season, becoming the first installment of the franchise to wrap up.

As is often the case with shows that have been on the air for so long, Chicago Fire has suffered a few departures and additions to its cast, leading to alterations in the characters’ storylines over the years. However, despite all these changes, the show is still very popular among the audience, as they follow each character’s journey as it unfolds. Jesse Spencer

Throughout ten seasons of Chicago FireJesse Spencer played Lieutenant Matthew Casey, who is also a recurring role in Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. And while this is one of the actor’s best known roles, he has played other characters in TV series that have also made him very popular. The first one was Billy Kennedy in Neighbours, an Australian soap opera in which he starred from 1994 to 2000, reprising his role for a special and the show’s finale in 2022. His second major role was as Robert Chase in the series House, starring Hugh Laurie. Spencer was one of the few actors who starred in the series from its pilot to its finale. The actor also boasts a number of films in his portfolio, including Uptown GirlsWinning London and Swimming Upstream.

Taylor Kinney plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide in Chicago Fire and in all the other productions of the franchise. Still, this actor became well-known several years before this show because of his role as Mason Lockwood in the teen series The Vampire Diaries, as well as his starring role in the soap opera Fashion House. Additionally, he made guest appearances on series such as ShamelessBones and CSI: NY. While his career features mostly TV projects, Kinney has been cast in several films over the years, including The Other WomanThe Forest and Here and Now, where he was cast alongside Sarah Jessica Parker, Simon Baker, Common, and Renée Zellweger, among other artists.

Kara Killmer took her first steps in the industry as part of the reality web series If I Can Dream, a 2010 production that followed several aspiring actors living together in a house in Los Angeles, as they tried to land their first acting gigs. Following this production, which ran for only one season, the actress appeared in a few short films and series episodes until she landed her first major role: paramedic Sylvie Brett on Chicago Fire. Killmer entered the show in its third season, and she continues starring in it to this day. She made her feature film debut in 2015 in the film Beyond the Mask, co-starring alongside John Rhys-Davies and Andrew Cheney, whom she later married.

Eamonn Walker plays Battalion Chief Wallace Boden, who got promoted to Deputy District Chief in the show’s tenth season. This English actor has portrayed the most wide-ranging characters in television, movies and on stage, and has been highly acclaimed both in the United Kingdom and in America. Among his best-known projects are the HBO show Oz, where he played Kareem Saïd, and the BBC series In Sickness and in Health. While his portfolio is mostly made up of TV productions, Walker has starred in several films throughout his career, including UnbreakableLord of War and The Company Men, a 2010 drama starring Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Chris Cooper, and Tommy Lee Jones.

In the One Chicago franchise, David Eigenberg is Senior Firefighter Christopher Herrmann. But long before starring in this production, the actor was already well-known all over the world for his role in another popular franchise: Sex and the City. In it, Eigenberg plays Steve Brady, a man involved in a relationship with Miranda Hobbes, who later becomes her husband. David played Steve in the original series, the 2021 revival And Just Like That… and both films in the franchise, released in 2008 and 2010. Over the years, Eigenberg mostly opted to star in TV projects, popping up in episodes of popular series such as Criminal MindsGhost Whisperer and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, among others. In 2004, he voiced Nermal in Garfield: The Movie, a production that was poorly reviewed, but performed strongly at the box office.

Joe Minoso

Before working in TV and film, actor Joe Minoso devoted himself to portraying several characters in theatrical plays. Eventually, he started to get involved in different TV shows, playing minor characters in episodes of Prison BreakThe BeastShameless and Boss. So far, his best known role is as Firefighter Joe Cruz in Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Minoso joined the show’s cast in its first season, but only as a recurring character. It was not until the show’s second season that he was added to the main cast, and he has remained there until this day. The actor was worked in only a few movies so far, but among them, we can highlight Man of Steel, the 2013 superhero movie starring Henry Cavill.

Christian Stolte‘s journey on Chicago Fire was quite similar to the one that Minoso underwent. The actor joined the cast in the beginning of the show, but it wasn’t until its second season that his character of Senior Firefighter Randall “Mouch” McHolland emerged as one of the main ones. A few years before joining this franchise, Stolte gained notoriety for his supporting role in the first two seasons of the TV series Prison Break. Among his best-known films are Public Enemies, starring Johnny Depp, Were the World Mine and Law Abiding Citizen, in which he appeared alongside Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler.

Miranda Rae Mayo

Miranda Rae Mayo kicked off her career performing in a few episodes of TV series until she landed her first major role in 2013 in the comedy series The Game, and later on, two main roles in the soap operas Days of Our Lives and Blood & Oil. Right after some cameo appearances in Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars and True Detective, the actress was offered to join the cast of Chicago Fire for the fourth season, and then became one of the main characters from the fifth season onwards. In the show, Mayo portrays firefighter Stella Kidd. She also appeared in occasional episodes of Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. Even though she has not been part of many movies, Miranda holds two horror films under her belt: Inside and The Girl in the Photographs.

Alberto Rosende joined the cast of Chicago Fire in its eighth season to play Blake Gallo, a character who is still in the show to this day. This actor took his first steps in the industry as part of the 2013 short film The Swing of Things, and subsequently made a few guest appearances in episodes of shows like Blue Bloods and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In 2016, Rosende landed a part that made him much more popular among the audience: the role of Simon Lewis in the show Shadowhunters, which he played for all three seasons of the production.

Monica Raymund

In Chicago FireMonica Raymund played paramedic Gabby Dawson, one of the main characters during the first six seasons, and a supporting character up until season eight. This is one of the most popular roles of the actress, who is also known for appearing in shows such as Lie to Me and The Good Wife, both of which were highly successful with both critics and audiences. After starring as Gabby in the One Chicago franchise, Raymund went on to star in another acclaimed show: Hightown, a crime drama series created by Rebecca Cutter that premiered in 2020. This production was renewed for a third season in 2022 (via Deadline).
