CBS DOMINATES NETWORK VIEWERSHIP WITH MULTIPLE PRO-FAMILY, PATRIOTIC SHOWS

CBS continues to dominate broadcast networking, with two new series surpassing the 10 million-plus viewers club.

FIRE COUNTRY and 60 MINUTES joined NCIS, BLUE BLOODS, FBI and three other CBS shows which have all reached the eight-figure milestone.

NCIS leads the way with 11.7M, followed closely by GHOSTS at 11.6M and FBI at 11.4M.

Deadline reported:

The viewership numbers include both linear TV and streaming for episodes that have aired through January 8. CBS has seen immense growth in streaming viewership year-over-year among its most popular shows.

NCIS has grown its streaming audience 32% year-over-year, while FBI has seen a 49% increase. Blue Bloods is up 53%.

According to Nielsen data, CBS boasts seven of the top 10 most-watched broadcast drama shows, and four of the top 5 most-watched broadcast comedies.

Movieguide® previously reported on the popularity of BLUE BLOODS and NCIS due to their moral, uplifting, and patriotic themes:

The final tallies for the top 100 telecasts of 2021 are in, and CBS’s NCIS dominated as one of the most-watched primetime telecasts behind NFL football.

The numbers also prove that Movieguide®’s theory that moral, patriotic TV performs better than politically correct and agenda-driven segments. Although the Academy Awards often finds itself in the top 10 most-watched telecasts, in 2021, the award show failed to make the top 100.

As the Oscars continue to pander to audiences under the guise of inclusiveness, the numbers show they end up losing viewers who want moral values championed.

However, NCIS’s moral, patriotic, and often pro-family themes propelled multiple episodes in the long-running series to the top 100 list.
