Are Tom Selleck and co coming back for season 13?

Blue Bloods fans, rejoice! The show isn’t ending anytime soon.

The long-running police procedural has just been renewed for a 13th season by network CBS.

TVLine reports that while viewing figures are very slightly down for the current season 12 compared to season 11, the show is CBS’s third most-viewed drama (out of 14) and fourth most-viewed drama across US broadcast TV.

A statement from CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl reads: The Reagans possess an incredible bond with audiences literally everywhere and on every platform.
“And in its 12th season, with over 250 episodes, Blue Bloods not only continues to dominate in the ratings but excels at an exceptionally high creative level.

“Led by the incomparable Tom Selleck, this amazing cast skillfully brings universal and relatable personal storylines to life week after week, while executive producer Kevin Wade and the skilled writing team craft compelling episodes featuring the show’s trademark mix of family dynamics and police work.”

Renewals, or cancellations, are expected to come in the next few weeks for the FBI trilogy – that’s FBI, FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International – plus The Equalizer, United States of Al, B Positive, Good Sam and the Magnum PI reboot.

It’s the original Magnum PI that made Tom Selleck a household name, and he recently joked to the publication that his ’80s classic might have also reached 250 episodes if he hadn’t wanted to end it and pursue movies instead.
