‘After’ – a film adapted from a One Direction member’s fanfic – released a trailer revealing a sweet love story on Valentine’s Day

This promises to be a romantic movie worth watching this summer.
Trailer After reveals the sweet love story of college student couple Tessa Young (Josephine Langford) and Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin). The story originally started from a fanfic about One Direction member Harry Styles posted by Anna Todd on Wattpad.

However, when the fic attracted millions of views, Simon & Schuster signed a publishing contract with Todd, changed Styles’ name to Hardin Scott – a fictional character, and published it as After. The book series has continued with four sequels: the three main installments and a prequel titled Before that explores Hardin’s life before he met Tessa.

The new trailer tells the journey of Tessa – a beautiful, active girl entering university. Here, she met a strange boy Hardin and quickly fell in love with him. However, things are complicated by Hardin’s past and his relationships with his family and friends. Not to mention at school, Tessa also meets her old high school boyfriend Noah (Dylan Arnold).

It can be seen that the trailer describes the characters, settings and some dialogues quite similar to Todd’s story, which will certainly satisfy many audiences who love this fanfic. However, there are also some notable changes, such as casting Mia as Tristan, while in the original story this was a male character. However, this is definitely still a movie that fans cannot miss this spring.

In addition to Langford, Fiennes-Tiffin and Arnold, After also features a cast of talented young actors such as Shane Paul McGhie as Landon, Khadijha Red Thunder as Tessa’s roommate – Steph, Samuel Larsen as her friend. Hardin – Zed, Peter Gallagher and Jennifer Beals play Hardin’s father and stepmother – Ken and Karen Scott, while Selma Blair plays Tessa’s mother, Carol Young. The film is directed by Jenny Gage from a script by Susan McMartin.
