Daniel Goddard (ex-Cane Ashby, The Young and the Restless) has taken to all of his social media platforms on Tuesday to tease his fans and followers that something is happening in his career, and from the looks of it (new haircut and all), it looks to be an acting role.
Could it be that Goddard is reprising his role as Cane? Could he be going over to General Hospital, Days of our Lives, The Bold and the Beautiful or Beyond the Gates? Or, could it be none of that and he has a new and exciting role on another show?
In his video message, Goddard expressed, “Hey, so I am getting a lot of DM’s and a lot of questions about the big news and what was the big news and when do we get to hear what the big news was. All I can say is this, I got a hair cut and it’s for a reason. Soon, very soon. I can’t wait to tell you.” The post also had hashtags that read “New Beginnings,” “The best is yet to come,” “hair transformation,” “Big news.”
The Australian-born Goddard took on the role of Cane Ashby from 2007-2019. It was back on November 26, 2019, that Daniel took to social media to share that he had been let go from the CBS daytime drama series when he expressed, “My dearest friends, I just wanted to let you know that on today’s episode of young and the restless Cane’s journey finally comes to an end. I wanted to tell you for a while that today is my last air date but I really just didn’t know how…”
Previously in October of 2019, Daniel shared,” It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that I will no longer be part of the cast of the Young and the Restless. I am as shocked and gutted as you are… I almost didn’t post but I felt that the most loyal & loving fans an actor could wish for deserved to know and watch the last story arc knowing the rich meaning behind it. I am forever grateful for the 13 years I have been a part of the Y&R family… but sadly it seems that without Neil and Lily there just is no Cane.”
On Y&R, Cane and Lily (Christel Khalil) have two children from their previous marriage twins, Mattie and Charlie, who were born in 2010, and who like Cane have been off the canvas of the top-rated CBS daytime drama series. Throughout their relationship, Cane and Lily were married twice in 2009 and again in 2012, before ultimately ending their relationship.
