Will Blue Bloods Return in 2025? There’s a Chance

With Blue Bloods Season 14 Part 2 premiering in Fall 2024, is there still hope we’ll see more of the Reagan family in the future?

After its amazing 14-year-long run, Blue Bloods is slated to draw its conclusion in just a few months. The show’s finale was announced in December 2023, but ever since, both fans and stars of Blue Bloods have been actively trying to save their favorite series. Tom Selleck has been especially insistent that it keeps going.

Has anything come out of it, and can we expect more Blue Bloods in the future? The short answer is yes — but not in the way you might have expected.

Blue Bloods Is Still Canceled

In the past months, we’ve been closely following the Blue Bloods cancellation drama: from the fan petition that was launched just a few minutes after the finale announcement to Tom Selleck’s one-man war against CBS and the insides about how the network executives hate the lead star for his attitude to the cancellation.

Despite all the effort put into this fight by Blue Bloods fans, stars, and crew alike, the iconic police procedural is still being canceled. In Fall 2024, it will air its last episodes in the form of Season 14 Part 2, drawing the conclusion to the year-long Reagan saga. However, this doesn’t mean we won’t see more of the Reagan family later.

Blue Bloods to Get New Spin-Offs

Around six weeks ago, Paramount’s Brian Robbins finally addressed the future of Blue Bloods at a shareholder meeting, and it’s not as grim as the cancellation implied. While the main series is still ending, there will apparently be “franchise extensions” for it — or, if we switch back to English, spin-offs, prequels, or sequels.

The announcement understandably sent waves through the fan community, making the audience wonder just what the new projects might focus on. There are many characters a potential spin-off could focus on, but our personal favorite is the “Reagans back in the day” idea following Henry when he was the Police Commissioner and Frank when he was still a beat cop with a young family.
