The PCPD has been dropping the ball lately. When will they actually solve some crimes?
What is going on at the Port Charles Police Department on General Hospital? Their actions have not always made sense, but lately they have been ridiculous.
Not Even Trying
A cold-blooded murder took place in Port Charles. It remains unsolved, and the PCPD is not even trying to find out who did it. John Cates (Adam J. Harrington) was a terrible person (which was a shame because the old Jagger wasn’t). The way he was torturing Kristina (Kate Mansi) was unconscionable, but that doesn’t mean it is ok to shoot him at point-blank range, which is exactly what Sonny (Maurice Benard) did.
The PCPD arrested Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for the crime, and she actually went to prison but was eventually released because she was innocent. Then, the whole matter was dropped. It’s almost as if it never happened. Sonny got away with murder, and it wasn’t the first time. The whole thing is bizarre.
Citizen’s Arrest
The latest bumble for the PCPD was a serial killer on the loose. Someone was injecting patients at the hospital with a drug, which caused them to die of heart failure. They barely did anything to investigate this horrific crime.
Instead, private citizens of Port Charles played detective and found out more information than Anna (Finola Hughes) or anyone in the department even tried to. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) investigated Turning Woods and GH with a little help from Lucas (Van Hansis). They gained all the evidence they needed to arrest the killer who was Cyrus (Jeff Kober). Unfortunately, they were almost killed in the process. The amateurs were the ones who solved the case, but Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was also scoping out Cyrus and ended up killing him herself. She, Lucky, and Liz would never been involved in the first place if the police had actually tried to solve the crime.
Is Anna the problem? Is she too close to the Port Charles criminals? What about Dante? Did he not look into John’s killer because he knew it was his dad? Is Chase too busy worrying about having a baby to concentrate on his job? It might be time to hire some new detectives. What do you think? Should they revamp the PCPD so they can actually solve crimes? Let us know in the comments.
