Tracker Season 2 Just Lost 2 Cast Members (Including A Fan-Favorite)

After its return from its lengthy winter break, Tracker season 2 just said goodbye to 2 cast members, including one that has become a fan-favorite in such a short time. Justin Hartley’s TV comeback after starring in This Is Us has been no short of a success, and its sophomore year, Tracker has maintained its place as broadcast’s most-watched series. Naturally, there was anticipation for its return from its mandatory winter break, especially with the way the midseason finale left things for the self-confessed “rewardist,” Colter Shaw, and his continued search for Gina Picket.

Instead of further stretching out the arch, which has been going on for most of Tracker season 2, part 1, “The Disciple” has officially solved Gina’s case. The mystery goes back to Frank Whales, whose involvement in the disappearance of the teen years ago provides the lead that Colter needs to finally figure out what happened to Gina. As it turns out, he’s a patsy for the real culprit. While the response to the arc’s resolution is divisive, what’s overlooked is that the show ends up losing two more characters on the heels of Robin Weigert’s Tracker season 2 exit.

Tracker Season 2, Episode 9 Effectively Writes Out Camille & Keaton

Gina Picket’s Case Getting Resolved Wraps Up Their Roles

Tracker season 2’s cast got some additional new faces with the introduction of Floriana Lima’s Camille Picket and Brent Sexton’s Keaton. CBS’ procedural established Camille’s importance early on in the year, as she and Colter reconnected during the anniversary of Gina’s disappearance. Aside from their connection through her sister, the pair has also maintained an on-and-off fling for years. Meanwhile, Sexton’s retired cop debuted in Tracker season 2, episode 6, with Keaton quickly becoming a fan-favorite. Since both of their roles in the show are tied to the Picket case, solving it leaves them no clear role moving forward.

Hartley’s character bids both farewell, albeit separately, in “The Disciple,” as he goes back to his weekly job bookings.

With that, Tracker season 2, episode 9 ends with Colter (and the viewers) saying goodbye to both Camille and Keaton. The rewardist has kept his ties with Gina’s sister all this time, primarily because he has been haunted by not being able to solve her case. With that done, there’s really no established need for them to reconnect. Meanwhile, Keaton’s partnership with Colter has only lasted this long because they have been working on Gina’s disappearance. Hartley’s character bids both farewell, albeit separately, in “The Disciple,” as he goes back to his weekly job bookings.

Can Both Keaton & Camille Still Return In Tracker?

Keaton’s Chances Of Returning Are Higher

The good news is that both Keaton and Camille can still reappear in Tracker. Seeing them again in season 2 may be a little trickier, considering that the rewardist will be back on the road for his cases, while also making some pitstops to reconnect with his siblings for their father’s mystery case. That being said, given Tracker’s popularity, it’s safe to say that a season 3 renewal from CBS is imminent. Since Keaton and Camille are alive, they can always be brought back. Between the pair, however, Sexton’s retired cop has a higher chance of making an appearance again.
