Tom Selleck Said He Was ‘The Game’ In Seasons Of ‘Blue Blood’

Blue Bloods returns on Friday, October 7. With her running for DA, Erin is ready to join her father, the police commissioner, as the leader of law and order.

Here, New York City’s top cop and Reagan patriarch Tom Selleck gives an in-depth look at Season 13.
During the premiere, Frank takes a late-night walk anonymously around the city to check on his police. What is the result?

Tom Selleck: It gives him insight into the dismay of the NYPD, and he’s going to address that serious issue directly. Frank had to walk the ropes in this waking environment. Now he realizes that he won’t be as diplomatic, and I like that about him. He’s about to face off against Mayor Chase [Dylan Walsh] — as he sounds like he’s rambling, in Frank’s opinion.

Blue Bloods has always tried to be non-partisan.

This is a show about a family of law enforcement and their views, but that doesn’t mean they’re always right and their opponents aren’t right… unless they’re just outright criminals. [Silent laughter]

Will Frank take the risk and support Erin for the Manhattan DA?

He struggled with that. Is his endorsement a plus or minus? It becomes stressful for the whole family.

Can we expect some interesting guests at Sunday dinner? Grandson returns? Erin’s ex-husband, Jack Boyle (Peter Hermann)?

I won’t tell anyone, but you’d be surprised how many people were at the table. And Jack is hiding.

Bridget said that doing 15 seasons would be great. You live in?

I have a mortgage. I am the game!
