The Lost Daughter is a very sad psychological drama about Leda coming to terms with a secret in her past surrounding her daughters. At a holiday resort, she meets Nina, played by Dakota Johnson. Nina is struggling with a daughter of her own. The film takes quite an intense turn after that, as it switches between narratives of Leda in the now and Leda when she was younger.

Wicked Little Letters, on the other hand, is a dark comedy mystery film, so tonally entirely different. Still, the contrasting films showcase Colman and Buckley’s talents in entirely different ways.
