Three classic Norman Lear sitcoms are headed to Amazon Prime/IMDbTV in a deal that will allow All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Good Times to be seen on the streaming platforms. Lear is a producer, writer, and director known for creating the sitcoms above as well as The Jeffersons, 227, Diff’rent Strokes, Maude, Sanford and Son, and One Day at a Time.

Deadline reports that Amazon Prime Video and IMDb TV have reached a deal with Sony Pictures Television for the shows mentioned above. According to the companies, these represent the most extensive collection of Lear series and the highest number of episodes ever available to stream at one time. The comedies 227 and Diff’rent Strokes will launch on Amazon Prime Video on July 15. The Jeffersons, Sanford & Son, and Sanford will debut later this year.

All in the Family, Good Times, Maude, and One Day at a Time will also launch July 15 but on IMDb TV. This will be the first time that episodes of Maude and all seasons of All in the Family are available on streaming services. Most of the series will make their entire runs available, while others will only stream two seasons at a time. The availability of episodes for all of Lear’s shows has not yet been announced.

The return in their entirety of All in the Family and the rest of Lear’s iconic television comedies are a boon for television fans who recall a time when topical subjects were dealt with head-on in a way that brought viewers together instead of dividing them. This rang true when Jimmy Kimmel and Lear brought back iconic episodes of All in the Family, Good Times, and The Jeffersons for their Live in front of a Studio Audience series of specials.
