Over the years, the Chicago Fire has become a Wednesday night staple, and fans never know exactly what will happen. Whether it’s a movie about the relationship between the heroes of One Chicago or the tragic accidents that keep everyone on their toes, the movie always keeps viewers guessing.
And, with so much at the ready, it’s no surprise that Fire has given us plenty of tear-jerking scenes. Revisit the show’s most iconic, heartbreaking moments.

Dawson finds her father left to die

In Season 6, Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) has to deal with a lot of emotions surrounding her father. He lived with and at times depended on her, then often left unannounced, and the burden fell on her shoulders. The tension culminated in a One Chicago crossover that began with Chicago Fire Episode 7 (“A Man’s Legacy”).

Gabby and her partner Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) answered a call about a stabbing on the platform and found a man lying in a pool of blood. But when Dawson bent down to help, she realized the man was her father. The couple rushes him to Chicago Med hospital, where Dawson’s brother, Antonio (Jon Seda), says their dad intervened to try to stop a man from attacking another with his knife.

Luckily, he survived and the Dawson siblings were able to see him. “What are you doing throwing yourself in front of the knife?” she asked him in tears, in the heartbreaking moment of realizing her father’s heroic intentions.

Herrmann forgave Cruz for a life-threatening attack

Season 4, Episode 9 (“Short and Fat”) ended with a spoiler after Chistopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) was stabbed by a worker in the kitchen of the show’s fun venue Molly’s after a confrontation. head. In the next episode (“The Beating Heart”), Dawson finds Herrmann bleeding on the floor and immediately helps get him to the Chicago Med.

The beloved “Heart of 51” fought for his life at the Med, but the most heartfelt moment came when he talked to Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) about the attack. The Dedication Ceremony for Shay

Leslie Shay (Lauren German) is a beloved paramedic who worked alongside Dawson during the first few seasons of Fire. After she and Dawson were frustrated by a silly joke, the two answered a call and Shay led the way into a burning building. Unfortunately, a pipe fell on Shay and died, despite Dawson’s efforts to save her mate.

In Season 3, Episode 13 (“Three Bells”), the team investigates the fire and discovers that Shay has been harmed by an arsonist who is responsible for other attacks. The team dedicated an ambulance to the deceased paramedic and held a ceremony with Shay’s sister.

“This house, this family, it’s all as strong as ever,” Dawson told the crowd tearfully. “Stronger, because I think deep down we all think to ourselves, ‘Shay wants us to be better. She wants us to lean on each other.'”

Revealing Otis .’s memorial

We would be remiss not to mention the death of beloved Brian “Otis” Zvoncek (Yuri Sardarov) at the age of 51 as one of the saddest moments in Fire history. During the show’s Season 8 premiere (“Sacred Ground”) it was confirmed that the boiler explosion at the end of Season 7 (“I’m Not Left You”) severely injured Otis.

The team was shocked by the tragic death of their best friend and, to surprise his team, Chief Boden ordered a statue to commemorate Otis. “Who will remember us? That’s the question all of us who have done this job have asked ourselves at one time or another,” Boden said before revealing the plaque. “Brian Zvoncecek is our brother. He’s our friend, he’s a great firefighter. He’s smart, funny, kind, unselfish and loyal.”

Boden told Severide, “Every favor he was ever owed, he put it on the line… and it worked. Your father [said] that I am the type of person who can mold people.” good into great people. And you, Kelly, are all the proof he needs to know that it’s true.”

This last act of goodwill brought Severide to tears, grateful that his father had helped the last 51 times.

Kidd rushed to the hospital

In Season 7 Episode 2 (“Coming to War”) the crew came together to battle the rampaging 25-story-high flames, resulting in several excellent saves. Severide pushes back down to the side of the building to save a child and 51 other teammates — including Severide’s significant other, Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) — desperately searching for civilians in the building.

However, Herrmann took Kidd out of the building unconscious. When the rest of the team, working to revive her, noticed that she had a pulse but wasn’t breathing, it was an emotional moment for Severide, who nervously looked on and said “Come on, Kidd.”

Severide shouted at Herrmann, saying, “You should have had her back.” Herrmann explained that Kidd didn’t tell him about her oxygen levels because she wanted to keep fighting: “She’s trying to save you.”

Casey and Severide reunited at Stellaride’s wedding

After a heartbreaking goodbye, 51-year-old beloved Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) has returned to Chicago for a pivotal event at the end of Season 10: He’s reunited with his longtime best friend. Severide at the latter’s wedding, and the two shared a heartfelt moment that brought all the tears of happiness.

Casey told his friend, “I don’t want to get too cheerful, but it’s your wedding, so I’ll go there… I’m really grateful to be a part of this, Kelly. You mean.”
