Tense As A String: Carla Marino Appears In New Image Of NCIS Season 22

In the NCIS Season 23 finale, Parker’s (Gary Cole) longtime enemy Carla Marino (Rebecca De Mornay) returns. Despite the latter’s vow to bring the mob leader to justice and her evading his traps every time, a bigger threat forces Parker to collaborate with Marino in the season’s final episode. “As NCIS investigates a dangerous connection between the Nexus cartel and Parker’s longtime nemesis, mob boss Carla Marino, the team uncovers a high-stakes plot involving stolen nuclear material. With time running out, Parker is forced into an uneasy alliance that could determine the fate of the operation – and his own future,” reads the logline for NCIS Season 23, Episode 20, “Nexus,” airing on CBS on May 5.
Marino’s strong ties to the criminal underworld make her a force to be reckoned with, so her arrival in the building gives rise to some tension. Like a major dignitary, everyone is present to welcome her, but in reality, they’re here to keep an eye on her. In law enforcement, compromises are usually the only way to move forward, but many officers don’t like doing it. Parker’s one in a long line of them, and while Marino is dangerous, she’s not to the level of stolen nuclear material. Meanwhile, the rest of the images tease a typical episode as the team dives into the case. Even with the cliffhanger from Episode 19, “Irreconcilable Differences,” that teased some revelations from Laroche, it seemed McGee’s job is safe and he’s back on the team. “Nexus” was written by Marco Schnabel and directed by Jose Clemente Hernandez.

Prepare for More ‘NCIS’ This Year

NCIS is the last show in the universe to air its finale this season, following the conclusion of NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney last week. After impressive viewership that earned them renewals, all three shows will return with new episodes this fall. Fans of NCIS-verse will get to fill their NCIS-shaped hole with a new series that debuts soon on Paramount+. NCIS: Tony & Ziva follows an NCIS fan favorite couple of years after they were written out of the show. Its official description reads:
NCIS: Tony & Ziva picks up after Ziva’s (Cote de Pablo) supposed death when Tony (Michael Weatherly) left the NCIS team to go raise their daughter. Years later, Ziva was discovered alive, leading her to complete one final mission with NCIS before she was reunited with Tony and their daughter in Paris. Since then — and where we find them in NCIS: Tony & Ziva — Tony and Ziva have been raising their daughter, Tali (Isla Gile), together. When Tony’s security company is attacked, they must go on the run across Europe, try to figure out who is after them and maybe even learn to trust each other again so they can finally have their unconventional happily ever after.
