Well, well, well — it looks like Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler aren’t done with us just yet. According to new details from Paramount Global’s Q1 2025 earnings call, the Yellowstone spin-off centered on the fan-favorite couple is officially on the books — and it has a release window. The still-officially-untitled project (which may go by Yellowstone: Dutton Ranch) is targeting a Q4 2025 debut, with November being the likeliest landing spot. If that date holds, the series will premiere roughly one year after the Yellowstone series finale aired in December 2024.
The new show will bring back Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser as Beth and Rip, picking up after the final scene of the original series, which saw them settling into a quieter life with Carter 40 miles west of Dillon, Montana. The finale, titled “Life Is a Promise,” closed with the family literally building a new home — a surprisingly peaceful conclusion to one of TV’s most chaotic romances. But now, it seems that peaceful future will be the beginning of their next chapter.
No additional cast members have been confirmed yet, and it’s unclear how many familiar faces from the Yellowstone universe might reappear. That said, given how tightly knit the world of Taylor Sheridan’s Montana has always been, don’t be surprised if Lloyd, Walker, or even Lynette Perry drop in down the road.
What Have Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly Said About ‘Dutton Ranch’?
Before the Yellowstone finale aired, both Reilly and Hauser were open to continuing their characters’ stories — but only if the timing and material felt right. “Until Taylor Sheridan comes to us both… and [if] he’s inspired to write something for us, then great. And if not, this is a beautiful ending,” Reilly told Collider. Hauser was even more optimistic, saying:
“Down the road, if there’s something that happens, surely I would welcome it.”
It turns out Sheridan was inspired. And unlike the other spin-offs in the ever-growing Yellowstone universe — including The Madison (starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer) and the upcoming Luke Grimes-led Y: Marshals — Dutton Ranch looks to be a direct continuation of a legacy fans already love.
Dutton Ranch isn’t the only thing on Sheridan’s plate. He’s also bringing back Tulsa King for Season 3 in September 2025, and Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 is set for October. Landman, which stars Billy Bob Thornton, returns in November, potentially sharing the spotlight with the Yellowstone spin-off.
Meanwhile, Y: Marshals is due in early 2026, and the long-gestating prequel 1944 is being eyed for a late 2026 release. Curiously, though, The Madison wasn’t mentioned in the Paramount call. Maybe there’s a story yet to come there.
Stay tuned to Collider for all the latest updates on the Yellowstone universe.
