‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Alum Sasha Alexander Cast as FBI Agent in ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’

Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer has just added some serious star power for its upcoming fourth season with the casting of Sasha Alexander, a familiar face to fans of Rizzoli & Isles and NCIS. Alexander will join the legal drama in a recurring role as FBI Agent Dawn Ruth, a tough and no-nonsense character who isn’t afraid to make her presence felt.

Agent Ruth, described as “intimidating” and direct, will bring a new level of tension to the series. In her first appearance, she and a colleague interrupt one of Mickey Haller’s (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) dinners, delivering a veiled threat to the defense attorney. Their message is clear: drop your investigation into the FBI… or there will be consequences. This places Agent Ruth at odds with Haller, who is more accustomed to dealing with courtroom battles than the pressure of federal investigation, setting up a compelling new conflict for Season 4.

Based on the novels by Michael Connelly and created for television by David E. Kelley, The Lincoln Lawyer follows Haller as he juggles high-profile criminal cases from the back of his Lincoln Navigator. The series has proven to be a fan favorite, with Season 3 garnering 7 million views within its first four days of release and reaching No. 2 on Netflix’s English-language TV chart. Season 4 will adapt The Law of Innocence, one of the most popular books in Connelly’s series.

While Netflix has yet to announce an official premiere date for the new season, the series’ continued success has kept anticipation high.Returning cast members include Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Yaya DaCosta. The series is now being co-run by Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey, who have helped steer the show through its critical and commercial successes.

Sasha Alexander brings a wealth of experience to her role as Agent Ruth, particularly in the procedural genre. Best known for her portrayal of Dr. Maura Isles on Rizzoli & Isles, Alexander has spent years playing strong, smart characters in high-stakes environments. Her early work as Caitlin Todd on NCIS further cemented her as a standout in the procedural world. Beyond her acting career, Alexander has also showcased her talents behind the camera, directing episodes of shows like You and Bull, and appearing in projects like Shameless, Mission: Impossible III, He’s Just Not That Into You, and Yes Man, where she starred opposite Jim Carrey.

With her vast experience in both front-and-center and behind-the-scenes roles, Sasha Alexander is sure to bring a new level of intensity to The Lincoln Lawyer. Her role as Agent Ruth promises to add fresh dynamics and push Mickey Haller to confront new challenges, making for a thrilling continuation of the series. Fans of the show will certainly be eager to see how her character shakes things up when Season 4 hits the screen.
