Queen Latifah brought high fashion to the 55th NAACP Image Awards stage on Saturday in Los Angeles, returning as a host of the annual ceremony for the second year in a row. The actress opened the show in a crystal-embellished long-sleeve gown by Oscar de la Renta that featured a sheer outer layer with a laurel pattern throughout.
Latifah’s dress was completed with a round neck and a flared hem silhouette. The hostess wore the ensemble onstage with a crystal-embellished thong sandal, diamond earrings and a diamond bracelet.
Later during the show, Latifah returned to the stage in a brown tuxedo dress from Christian Siriano’s fall 2024 collection, which was inspired by Frank Herbert’s “Dune” saga. “If we did have to live in this apocalyptic world — what’s the cocktail? What’s the evening?” Siriano previously told WWD about his inspiration for the collection.

Latifah completed her Siriano look with a black blouse, a matching pussy-bow tie and sunglasses.
Making another wardrobe change, Latifah made a lilac statement in a coat dress from Georges Hobeika’s fall 2023 couture collection. The frock featured layers of scalloped ruffles.
In 2023, Latifah made multiple outfit changes throughout the show. She wore a similar blue and yellow Oscar de la Renta dress, which also featured long sleeves, a flared hem and a crystal laurel pattern. Styled by Jason Rembert, she donned other gowns by A. Potts, Tony Ward and Bibhu Mohapatra.

The 2024 NAACP Image Awards honor the accomplishments of Black creatives in film, television and music. Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony and winners were announced prior to the show’s air date. This year’s honorees include Usher, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, June Ambrose and Ciara.
