A Yellowstone star is saddling up for a stint on Grey’s Anatomy.
Piper Perabo is joining the cast of ABC‘s long-running medical drama, according to our sister site Variety, for a three-episode arc to wrap up the current Season 21. Perabo will make her debut in Episode 16, airing Thursday, May 1, and will appear in the next two episodes as well, including the May 15 season finale.
Perabo will play Jenna Gatlin, a mother whose 9-year-old daughter Dylan is at Grey Sloan for a high-risk brain surgery, with Caterina Scorsone’s Amelia handling the surgery. (Fans will remember that on Private Practice, Amelia lost her first baby when it was born without a brain. She later gave birth to a son, Scout, in the Season 16 finale of Grey’s.) “Amelia undertakes a high-risk brain surgery on a young patient,” says the official synopsis for Episode 16.
Perabo first broke out as the star of the 2000 movie Coyote Ugly, and later appeared in the big-screen remake of Cheaper by the Dozen and its sequel. She then starred as CIA agent Annie Walker for five seasons on USA’s Covert Affairs, a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination in 2010. Perabo joined the cast of Yellowstone in Season 4 as animal rights activist Summer Higgins, appearing in the Paramount Network hit’s final two seasons.
