NCIS Star Shares Two Characters She’d Love to “Crack” in Upcoming Episodes

NCIS star Diona Reasonover, who portrays forensic specialist Kasie Hines on the hit CBS procedural, has revealed which two characters she would want to focus on when penning future episodes of the show. Reasonover has played the role of Kasie since 2018, making her debut in the NCIS season 15 episode “One Man’s Trash,” and remains one of the most prominent NCIS cast members. A prominent series on CBS, the show revolves around a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.

In an interview with Collider, Reasonover discusses the possibility of writing more episodes of the show, having already penned season 20, episode 8 “Turkey Trot,” and reveals the two characters she’d most like to explore would be Nick Torres and Tim McGee. She believes they would be “really fun to crack,” before touching on their relationship dynamic, and how they would approach things from different perspectives despite being partners. Check out Reasonover’s comments below:

“I would love to write a [Nick] Torres and [Tim] McGee episode. Those are the two I think would really be fun to crack…I love the two of them together because, first of all, if something popped off, you know that they’re both going to be involved, but they’re going to take two different approaches.”

What This Means For Reasonover’s NCIS Writing Future
The Star Seems Interested In Writing More For The Show

Reasonover’s comments indicate that she would be interested in penning more episodes of the show, although, as NCIS season 22 is coming to an end, it would need to happen in future seasons. There are many great characters and plot threads to explore in NCIS; and Reasonover wanting to branch out to explore other characters besides Kasie shows a drive to push herself as a writer. What’s more, it also illustrates the interesting and layered relationship between McGee and Torres, and how they have become one of the show’s defining partnerships.

Writing for a show can be intensive, and will often take up a lot of time, brainpower, and emotion, and this could well be why Reasonover favors McGee and Torres for her subject matter, as they are two characters she feels she could have fun with, adding in the same interview “I love their dynamic together. I think they’re so fun.” NCIS season 23 has been renewed, so there is the guarantee of at least one more season where Reasonover could write more scripts and pitch some storylines for the two characters.

Our Take On A Torres & McGee Episode
The Duo Have A Great Dynamic That Could Be Explored In Fun & Interesting Ways

McGee and Torres have enjoyed a mentor-style relationship since the latter joined the show in season 14, and this has developed into a strong partnership over time. While Torres can be standoffish at times, and McGee is seen as the computer-geek type character, the two have a fun and interesting dynamic, and one that lends itself to multiple different storylines. Family-centered storylines, such as Torres’s love for the family unit, and a possible introduction of McGee’s grown-up kids, could make for a good opportunity for bonding, and would help continue to make them a key NCIS partnership.
