NCIS fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the highly anticipated spin-off series, NCIS: Tony & Ziva, and now Michael Weatherly has shared an exciting update, hinting that the premiere is just around the corner.
In response to a fan’s question on social media about the spin-off’s release date, Michael teased, “Oh hi-ho! It’s so, so… close to nearly being a thing we can show.” He added with humor, “But do you know why doctors are so good at golf? They have lots of patients. (But not crazy patience—more like Christmas patience, where surprises make you happy).”
Fans expressed their excitement in the comments, with one writing, “Sooo looking forward to it!” and another adding, “Can’t wait! NCIS is a family affair for our crew!”
The ten-episode series is expected to debut on Paramount+ sometime in 2025, although a specific release date has not yet been confirmed.
In NCIS: Tony & Ziva, Michael reprises his role as Tony DiNozzo, and Cote de Pablo returns as Ziva David. The series picks up with Tony and Ziva raising their daughter, Tali, in Paris after Ziva’s dramatic return to life and reunion with her family. However, their peaceful life is disrupted when Tony’s security company is attacked, forcing the couple to go on the run across Europe. As they investigate who’s behind the attack, they must confront their past and rediscover their trust in each other.
The series features an impressive cast, including Downton Abbey‘s Julian Ovenden as the Secretary General of Interpol, Jonah, and Oppenheimer‘s James D’Arcy as Henry, a high-ranking Interpol official. Other cast members include Amita Suman (Shadow and Bone), Lara Rossi (The Watch), Nassima Benchicou (Emily in Paris), Terence Maynard (Coronation Street), and Maximilian Osinski, with Isla Gie (Foundation) playing Tali.
NCIS: Tony & Ziva will be available on Paramount+, and fans are eagerly awaiting this next chapter in the beloved characters’ story.
