Love Is Blind Season 8 Teases Several Controversies in First Trailer

The popular Netflix dating series Love Is Blind will reopen its pots. This time, the singles are joining from Minnesota and it will be just in time for the season of love.

Netflix just dropped the trailer for the upcoming Season 8 of Love Is Blind on Tuesday, over two weeks away from its Valentine’s Day release. The almost two-minute trailer introduces the new participants, which includes 32 singles, all based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The new season will include the largest group so far in the dating reality show.

Love Is Blind co-hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey confirmed that Season 8 will premiere on Valentine’s Day at the Season 7 reunion. The new season will premiere one day after the show’s fifth anniversary, as Season 1 premiered on Feb. 13, 2020, and has experienced popularity on the streaming service, later adding more locations, including Brazil, France, Germany, Mexico, UK, and even the United Arab Emirates.

The reality dating series follows a group of participants who have never met, introducing all of them to each other, allowing them to date, and get engaged, all before ever seeing each other in order to avoid relationships that start on looks only. The new participants range from 26 to 43 years old, and include three nurses, several former cheerleaders, and managers.

The new season premieres on Netflix on Feb. 14, but not all episodes will be released all at once. On the first Friday, Love Is Blind Season 8 will release its first six episodes, followed by Episodes 7, 8, and 9 on Feb. 21, Episodes 10 and 11 on Feb. 28, and the final episode on Mar. 7.

Netflix went all in with the trailer for the upcoming season, hyping up the controversies and the singles’ journey to find love. “She had a boyfriend going into this,” one participant says in the video. A different person confronts her partner after finding out something online. “There’s this girl on TikTok. She’s crying. I need you to tell me everything,” she says. One of the most shocking moments in the trailer is a man replying to a 30-year-old woman that she’s “no longer attractive” after stating her age.

Who Are the Participants of Love Is Blind Season 8?

The Season 7 reunion teased the new series by revealing three singles, Alex, 29, Brittany, 35, and Joey, 35. They were just a small number compared to the 32 singles. This comes after Season 7 had only two couples who got married at the end of the season, so the experiment was not very successful in Washington, D.C.

The women are: Amanda, 43, Ashley, 28, Brittany, Casandra, 30, Kylie, 28, Lauren, 31, Madison, 28, Meg, 31, Molly, 30, Monica, 28, Sara, 29, Taylor, 32, Tiera, 34, Vanessa, 31, Virginia, 34, and Yemi, 30.

The men are Adam, 33, Andrew, 27, Ben, 28, Benji, 26, Brad, 35, Brian, 30, Daniel, 30, David, 30, Devin, 29, Hugo, 30, Mason, 33, Mo, 35, Scott, 34, and Tom, 38.

Love Is Blind is far from over. The six-time Primetime Emmy-nominated series will continue as it has been officially renewed through Season 10. Overall, the reality dating series boasts a “fresh” rating of 65% on Rotten Tomatoes but only 35% based on the first seven seasons.

Love Is Blind Season 8 premieres on Netflix on Valentine’s Day.
