The highly anticipated season, which also marks the fifth anniversary of the show, will follow the singles on their emotional journey to finding love — and all the drama along the way
Get your golden goblets ready: Love Is Blind is back for another season!
On Tuesday, Jan. 28, Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming 8th season, which also marks the fifth anniversary of the hit show. The new teaser gives fans a sense of all the drama that’s to come in season 8 from the Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota singles, including the emotional connections, the jealousy and breakups, and of course, the happy moments.
The trailer kicks off with a female participant declaring: “When the doors opened and I saw him, I thought he’s so familiar to me. I believe he knew exactly what I looked like the entire time we were talking through a wall.”
Sitting inside the women’s quarters, 31-year-old oncology nurse Meg then says, “I think half of us could leave here engaged,” before joking it’s like the “Hunger Games, baby!”
As the participants enter the pods and the dates begin, fans get to see the sweet moments between potential couples as well as the mega cringeworthy exchanges.
“I’m 30,” Lauren says, to which David quips, “So you’re no longer attractive.” As expected, Lauren is caught off guard by his blunt comment, yelling out, “Oh my God!”
In another moment, Daniel discloses to his pod date: “My sister was born blind. She just loves people without seeing them. If I could just be a little bit like her, that’d be cool.”
But jealousy starts to kick in as the women get to know their suitors and develop genuine connections.
“I can’t wait to tell my boyfriend to break up with his girlfriend,” Virginia says inside the pods, as Lauren tells cameras, “She’s trying to date the person that I want to marry, that sucks.”
Eventually, the singles make up their minds and settle on one person to spend forever with.
After the proposals and reveals happen, one man can be heard saying, “I think I’m probably the luckiest person in the whole world.”
However, the honeymoon phase wears off quickly when the season 8 cast comes back from their tropical getaways and reality hits.
One family member warns, “He’s not your type,” as Sara, 29, can be heard confronting her fiancé about a suspicious exchange on TikTok. “This girl on TikTok who’s crying. I need you to tell me everything.”
In another moment, one man mentions how “she had a boyfriend going into this” but Madison quickly refutes, “He’s a huge liar.”
Molly, 30, then is seen saying, “He had a girl all over him.” In a separate scene, a woman can be heard asking, “Did you block her?” and a man responds, “I did.”
“The guy lives in the freakin’ building that we moved into,” a man later adds.
As things escalate and the wedding dates approach, Devin questions why his fiancée would “need a prenup” and another woman points out how it’s “a big decision.”
“I can’t deal with this for the rest of my life,” states one man, as a fed-up bride heads to her getaway car — perhaps a nod to Giannina Gibelli’s iconic season 1 wedding exit moment — and yells out in frustration.
“Ah! Get me out of here!” she wails.
