It’s the one where the cast of Friends try to nail down time for dinner.
Lisa Kudrow revealed that she and her costars on the hit ’90s sitcom—David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc and the late Matthew Perry—only managed to all get together once in between the show’s 2004 finale and 2021’s Friends: the Reunion.
In fact, that’s part of why The Comeback actress had such a blast participating in the HBO special, which celebrated the series’ 25th anniversary.
“It was so good,” Lisa said of reunion during a Dec. 10 appearance on Jessie Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner On Me podcast. “We’d only had dinner the six of us once before since the show ended.”
And while the 61-year-old admitted that their meetup happened “10 years” after Friends concluded, she also said that it felt like no time had passed at all.
“It was like we didn’t miss a beat,” Lisa recalled. “Just us at someone’s house and had dinner and, like, didn’t miss a beat.”
Friendship Goals: Hollywood’s Most Beloved BFFs
Of course, that doesn’t mean the Friends cast hadn’t made time to see each other in smaller groups. Back in 2019, Courteney shared that she celebrated her birthday with Lisa and Jennifer. And last year, Lisa and Jennifer gave a joint speech at the Scream actress’ Hollywood Walk of Fame star unveiling.
“We’re very honored to be here today to speak on your behalf, as your coworkers, friends, family, your sisters,” Jennifer said during the speech. “We’ve known you for a very long time.”
And when the trio of women aren’t able to hang in person, they also catch up with each other virtually.
As Jennifer explained during her conversation with Quinta Brunson for 2023’s Variety Actors on Actors series, “We see each other. I talked on FaceTime with Court last night for an hour, and Lisa and the boys, and we just have a really—it’s a family forever.”
And that family feeling lives on even after Matthew tragically died in October 2023, with all five of the remaining Friends alums sharing a joint statement to pay tribute to the actor.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew.” their statement read at the time. “We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.”
