Airing season 2 on the first day of the new year 2024, the long- running series The Tourist has been warmly received by world critics and audiences. The film quickly received a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes and positive reactions from the general audience.
The original content of The Tourist is about the male lead – a “man” with amnesia who wakes up in a hospital on the outskirts of Australia. With only a few facts about himself, the “man” must find himself before the events of the past capture him. After season 1 in 2022, the “man” learned that his name is Elliot Stanley, but went through a series of events and was eventually imprisoned, even causing many people around him to die. Season 2 is when Elliot is rescued after a failed suicide attempt, and returns to take revenge on the person who caused him to fall into a series of suffering before – Detective Rogers.
On Rotten Tomatoes, top review sites have given much praise to The Tourist season 2, especially the outstandingly improved acting of the male lead Jamie Dornan. Previously, Dornan was globally famous for his role as the handsome, sexy CEO “everyone loves” Christian Grey in the 18+ series 50 Shades of Grey . Once criticized as a “disaster”, 50 Shades of Grey was once considered the “beginning but also the end” of Jamie Dornan’s career.
