Will the fan favorite event return this year?
After a few years leaving viewers hanging, will General Hospital finally have another Nurses Ball this year? Fan weigh in on the possibility.
History of the Ball
Since the mid-90s, something GH has been best known for is its annual Nurses Ball for HIV and AIDS. It all started in 1994 after Robin (ex-Kimberly McCullough) was diagnosed with HIV and her boyfriend Stone (ex-Michael Sutton) succumbed to the illness. After eight consecutive balls, the event took a break until its grand return in 2013 to coincide with GH’s 50th anniversary.
The return of the Nurses Ball saw Lucy (Lynn Herring) continuing her iconic hosting duties, with a whole new cast of talent hitting the stage to fund research and honor the nurses of General Hospital. But when the 2020 pandemic turned the ball into a telethon, the event never returned.
Will The Ball Be Dropped Again?
Fans recently took to Reddit to share their hopes for a 2025 Nurses Ball. After the original poster noted the ball has been sorely missed, several viewers chimed in with their thoughts.
“I do enjoy the Nurses Ball events, but we keep hearing a lot about that SAC fundraiser for animal cruelty, so it’s likely we won’t get a Nurses Ball this year,” ChaLynnfan speculated, their username confirming they ship Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and recent Nurses Ball performer Chase (Josh Swickard).
“There was always something enjoyable about it – Britch and Brad, Glam Epiphany,” JustRepeatAfterMe wrote, reminiscing about Britt (ex-Kelly Thiebaud) and Brad’s (Parry Shen) viewing parties and lead singer Epiphany’s (the late Sonya Eddy) stunning performances.
Of course, there can’t be a major event in Port Charles without tragedy. “I think we need one. It would be a great opportunity for some Sidwell (Carlo Rota), Brennan (Chris McKenna), and Sonny (Maurice Benard) drama – something like the Metro Court hostage situation,” drugstorechocolate commented, referring to Jerry’s (ex-Sebastian Roché, who recently revealed whether he would return to the soap) hostage crisis of 2007.
