Veteran actor Mark Harmon, star of the hit series NCIS, recently shared how he has managed to stay sane and balanced amid the Hollywood spotlight for decades. In a recent interview, the 66-year-old actor said that his family background, strong marriage, and work ethic are the three important factors that have helped him stay grounded in a volatile environment.
Mark confided: “I have good parents. I was raised with the idea that you always have to do your best. As long as you can look in the mirror and say, ‘I did my best,’ everything is fine.” He also emphasized that keeping things in perspective is something he always tries to do: “I work hard to keep things in perspective. For me, it’s all a long journey, and the goal is always sustainability.”
A source close to the family revealed that Mark’s marriage to actress Pam Dawber was the biggest support in his life and career. “Mark always told me he was the luckiest man in the world… He doesn’t know what he would do without Pam,” the source shared. Even after more than 30 years together, the two still maintain the romance as when they first fell in love. “They still act like a couple who are madly in love.”
In 2017, Mark and Pam celebrated and renewed their vows together on the occasion of their 30th wedding anniversary. At that time, Pam emotionally said: “I want to grow old with Mark. And there is no better way to start the next chapter of my life than to remarry the person I love.”
