The Grey’s Anatomy season 21 finale trailer teases a nail-biting conclusion to the show’s most recent season. Grey’s Anatomy season 21 has been something of a pressure cooker ever since Jenna Gatlin’s daughter Dylan went under the knife for a life-saving procedure that she recovered well from, before her condition deteriorated rapidly. Conscious, but only able to communicate via blinks, Dylan’s condition remains unclear, prompting Jenna to take extreme measures to try to save her daughter.
Per the finale promo trailer from the TV Promos on YouTube, things are set to get explosive at Grey Sloan Memorial, as little Dylan’s mother Jenna takes matters into her own hands, threatening an operating room full of doctors and nurses, including Amelia Shepherd, as she holds a lighter over an oxygen tank. The traumatized mother wants treatment for her daughter, who slipped into an unresponsive state after being seemingly successfully treated for a cavernous angioma, and turns the hospital into a hostage zone. The Tension Mounts As Several Doctors Are In Mortal Danger
The finale is set to provide a tense and climactic end to one of the most emotionally-charged storylines Grey’s Anatomy has done in recent times. While Jenna’s actions are horrible, her anguish as a parent, and the hopelessness she feels can at least be understood. Whether Dylan will get the treatment she needs, and improve, remains to be seen at this point, but there is also the very real threat that some of the medical team face as part of Jenna’s hostage situation.
As a woman on the edge, the slightest thing could push her in the wrong direction, and this puts the lives of Amelia, Lucas, BokHee, and others in peril. Grey’s Anatomy has killed off beloved characters in the past, so the show is no danger to shocking character fates, and that makes the stakes here even more real. Jenna has been a great recurring character in the show for this season, but her arc could be ending in the most heartbreaking way with this nail-biting finale.

The Episode’s Consequences Could Shape The Show’s Future
The season finale is set to have long-term consequences for the rest of the show, and with Grey’s Anatomy season 22 renewed, there is a chance the conclusion to this story spills into next season. A cliffhanger ending would not be outside the realms of possibility, and there’s a good chance there could be a casualty or two. Over the years, there have been many Grey’s Anatomy storylines that were never resolved, but this is one where I think viewers may need to wait until the season 22 premiere for the resolution.
