Gordon Ramsay Opens Up About the Dish That ‘Brought Me to Tears’ – You Won’t Believe What It Is!

Gordon Ramsay got a big American welcome at his Washington, D.C. pizza joint this weekend, but let’s just say he wasn’t a fan of the concept.

The celebrity chef stopped by Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza USA, the United States offshoot of his Street Pizza restaurants in England, where he said staff served him a very American menu item.

In a photo posted on Instagram on March 9, Ramsay sat in a restaurant booth while holding a pineapple pizza in his hand. The Hell’s Kitchen star grimaced in the snap, making a face with his eyes closed, insinuating displeasure at the divisive dish.

“Went to @streetpizzausa and first thing they served me was Pineapple Pizza….brought me to tears 😭,” he captioned the photo before adding that it was “Great to see the team and have some other pizzas too.”

Another pizza, which appears to be a classic Margherita, could be seen in the background of the photo.

Ramsay’s distaste for pineapple pizza is well-documented, to the point that the pizza restaurant’s menu has a pizza on it that features mozzarella, mornay sauce, applewood-smoked bacon, and pineapple, and is aptly named “Don’t Tell Gordon.”

Fans found the photo hilarious, flocking to the comments to share their opinions on the fruit on pizza debate.

“The Italians cry with you. 💔 🇮🇹 😭😂,” wrote one fan, as another laughed and commented, “😂😂😂! That would be my reaction too 😂.”

One fan said pineapple on pizza is “a sin” while another called it “sacrilege,” but not everybody was on the same page. “Try it with flambéed pineapples and thank me later,” suggested one commenter, and another said, “😂😂my fav kind of pizza 🍕🍍.”

A fan then asked Ramsay why he’d allow this type of behavior from his establishment. “But Gordon, that’s your own restaurant. Why did you let it run like that? 😱🍍🍕.”
