Gordon Ramsay Deems TikToker ‘New Pesto Queen’ After Viral Video

The internet calling her crazy, which Ramsay says is ‘a marker of a great chef’

The internet poked fun at Susi Vidal for her video about homemade pesto, but she’s recently been dubbed “the new pesto queen” by professional chef and cooking show host Gordon Ramsay.

Earlier this year, the TikToker and home cook went ultra viral for her “girl dinner” video in which she stated, “Call me crazy if you want, but I’ve never liked store-bought pesto.”

The video garnered 17.8 million views and inadvertently sparked a trend of fellow TikTokers sharing their own crazy stories. They include a female influencer who was legally kidnapped from an all-girl’s boarding school, a pregnant woman who delivered Mono Mono twins, and a woman who carried out a decades-long revenge on a man who insulted her at a comedy club.

In her latest video with 3 million views, Vidal caught up with the 57-year-old restauranteur.

She then asked him what he thinks about people who call her crazy for disliking the store-bought sauce. He acknowledged that he also hates the product — and that “craziness makes a great chef.”

“I think it’s a good thing the fact that you don’t like store-bought,” Ramsay said.

“More importantly, you can make a great bloody pesto, so no more store-bought. This is the new pesto queen!”

“I don’t think Gordon realizes that he has finally made it big! Susi putting him on the map!” one comment reads.

From another user: “This is the crossover I needed. I wanted to hear Gordon’s store-bought pesto story.”
