General Hospital Stars Honor the Legacy of Leslie Charleson

In the aftermath of the death of legendary actress Leslie Charleson, several of her former castmates got together to honor her life.
In recent years, General Hospital’s cast, crew, and fans have been troubled by the deaths of many of its stars, including Tyler Christopher, Billy Miller, Sonya Eddy, and Johnny Wactor. Each passing has been difficult to process, and among those fallen stars was the legendary Leslie Charleson. She has played Quartermaine matriarch Monica since 1977, touching the lives of every actor on the show. Her recent passing has prompted the stars of the show to share their celebration of her life.

Charleson Was Lovingly Remembered
GH cast members and friends recently participated in Leslie Charleson’s ‘Celebration of Life’ in Los Angeles. Among the attendees were Lynn Herring (Lucy), Finola Hughes (Anna), Ian Buchanan (ex-Duke), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), and many more. Several of these stars took to Instagram to share their thoughts and memories.

Finola Hughes
Hughes shared a photo of the event invitation on Instagram that was set to some lovely piano music and captioned it, “Beautiful celebration of this wonderful woman. The stories about Lester’s generosity and kindness and above all her fun loving way of life. Her love of animals, her horses, her joy in acting. It was touching to bring her two worlds together for an afternoon, her GH family and her equestrian friends 💕 rip sweet Lester, we love you 💫 🕊️.” Lester, of course, was Charleson’s nickname behind-the-scenes.

Lisa LoCicero
She also shared a photo of the invite, writing, “There will never be another like her.. a beautiful celebration for a beautiful soul.. especially @wallykurth bringing the music.. Thank you for sharing your life with us Leslie..♥️.”

Ian Buchanan
The GH vet had two posts, the first of which stated, “A Wonderful Celebration for a Glorious Friend.❤️❤️❤️.”
Buchanan’s second post contained a snap of him, Herring, and Hughes, and he kept his caption simple with, “A Lovely Celebration.❤️Leslie Charleston.❤️.”

George Pennacchio
And finally, entertainment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News, George Pennacchio, wrote, “A lovely goodbye today for a lovely lady. I attended the memorial service for “General Hospital” legend Leslie Charleson. We were all given little memory candles to keep her in our thoughts. There was a lot of love at today’s event and even a visit from Leslie’s beloved horse, Romero. ❤️.”
He shared two photos, one of Romero at the event, and another was the invite that included a heart with the inscription: “She brought so much light to the world that even though she’s gone, her light remains. In Loving Memory of Leslie Charleson, 2/22/45 – 1/12/25.”
