Born in Renfrewshire (Scotland) in 1966, Gordon Ramsay is the second of four children. Since childhood, Gordon Ramsay had to move around a lot due to his family’s poor financial conditions, and his father was also an alcoholic and violent.
After renting an apartment at the age of 16 and moving away from his parents, Gordon focused on improving his soccer skills. Newly opened restaurant immediately received Michelin award
Gordon stayed in France for a short time before returning to London when he was offered the position of head chef at Aubergine. Within three years of taking up the position, he won two Michelin Guide stars.
In 1998, he opened his own restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, with the help of his father-in-law, Chris Hutcheson, and his colleagues at Aubergine. Soon after, the restaurant was awarded its third Michelin star, making Gordon the first Scot to achieve this feat. A year after opening his eponymous restaurant, he opened another Michelin-starred restaurant, Pétrus. To date, Gordon has been awarded a total of 16 Michelin stars. Gordon has set two Guinness World Records, including “Fastest time to fillet a 10 lb fish” (10 lb is equivalent to 4.5 kg) in 1 minute 5 seconds and “Longest sheet of pasta rolled in 60 seconds”, measuring 1.45 m.
“Nightmare” of chefs
Gordon also appeared on television in 1998 with Boiling Point , which established him as one of the most famous and influential chefs in Britain. Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen made him famous in the US. In 2010, he took on the role of producer and judge on the US show MasterChef .
Through his television shows, Gordon Ramsay has shown himself to be a very hot-tempered, fierce, straightforward person who often uses vulgar language.
