Lisa Kudrow, actress in the famous Friends series, criticized Tom Hanks’ new movie that advocates AI (artificial intelligence) technology.
“What jobs are there going to be for people?” former Friends star Lisa Kudrow asked while sharing her thoughts on Tom Hanks ’ new film , which was released this past November.
The 61-year-old comedian criticized director Robert Zemeckis’ film project Here and the technology used to de-age the main couple when she spoke with the host of the podcast Armchair Expert aired on December 9.
Here is considered a reunion of the director, screenwriter and stars of Forrest Gump (1994). The film travels through multiple generations of a family with the main roles played by Tom Hanks and Robin Wright.
Robert Zemeckis has previously said that his films would not be successful if the actors in them were constantly transforming into younger versions of themselves thanks to new technology.

The former Friends star described the technology used by the show as allowing the actors to “time travel”. The crew would film scenes and then watch footage of themselves as young adults afterwards.
“What I see here is a validation of the power of AI, and oh my gosh it’s going to ruin everything. What’s left? Forget actors, especially young actors. They (filmmakers) just get a license and keep changing and reinventing with technology,” said Lisa Kudrow.
Tom Hanks previously told People that the digital rejuvenation experience was “weird . ” The 68-year-old said it was a “new filmmaking gimmick” instead of using makeup, as actors have traditionally done. “Because we have super-fast computers that do the filtering at the time of filming, we don’t have to wait in post-production to see ourselves as younger,” he said.
The Oscar-winning actor has previously spoken out against videos that illegally use his version of artificial intelligence. The star said that there are many videos that use his name, image, and voice to promote drugs and miracle cures. All of them were created fraudulently, through AI, without his permission.
