Nazneen Contractor opened up about what a challenge it was to work on the soap, and what she liked about it.
Nazneen Contractor’s General Hospital character, ADA Turner, battled it out with Ric in the courtroom near the end of last year. She prosecuted Ava for causing Kristina to have a miscarriage. Ric held his own, ultimately winning the case. Contractor recently discussed her daytime soap experience.
Her Husband is a Villain
A veteran of intense shows like The Border and 24, Contractor added Port Charles’ latest assistant district attorney to her long list of credits in 2024. The Spiral actress is married to Carlo Rota, who currently plays GH villain Jenz Sidwell. While he was recently seen in an episode of The Rookie, Contractor also has a lot of irons in the fire. She’s part of The Love Club Moms series of movies and is the central focus of The Love Club Moms: Nila for the UP Faith & Family streaming service.
Contractor talked to Digital Journal about her career and dove into her brief GH role. She loved working on the soap, explaining that part of the reason was that “the studio is 15 minutes away from my house, which is a beautiful thing.” She also mentioned another plus, which was that her hubby Rota also appears on the show, praising him with: “Carlo is so talented and so good.”
She Loves a Challenge
Contractor, who recently appeared on the series Children Ruin Everything, further stated in her interview that she would be heading to the GH studio the following day. Appearing as an ADA was fun for her. “Doing courtroom scenes on my first day on the show was such a great challenge.”
The Holidazed actress comes from a background of shows and films that are largely single-camera productions that have far more rehearsal time. Plus, they get to do many more retakes than actors get on a soap. So, entering the world of daytime TV was a challenge she relished. “I really saw it as something exciting,” she explained. “I’m a thrill seeker; whenever something scares me, I am drawn to it even more.”
