Fans Call ‘Young NCIS’ April Fool’s Gag ‘Adorable’ and ‘Hilarious’

The NCIS social media team had some fun this April Fool’s Day 2025, leaning into a playful idea that combined two of CBS’s biggest franchises. Inspired by the success of Young Sheldon—the hit prequel to The Big Bang Theory—they unveiled a fake promo for Young NCIS.

While NCIS: Origins already takes fans back to the early days of Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ career, Young NCIS took things to an even more exaggerated level. The concept imagined the beloved NCIS team as elementary school kids, solving playground mysteries and decoding cafeteria conspiracies. The fake trailer featured pint-sized versions of fan-favorite characters, complete with juice boxes, oversized backpacks, and junior forensic kits.

It was a light-hearted April Fool’s nod, but fans couldn’t help but smile at the thought of little Gibbs enforcing snack-time rules with the same intensity he brings to federal cases.
