2022 has been quite an interesting year for NBC’s One Chicago franchise. Across the past year, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD have each undergone a series of shakeups to their core casts.
Sure, we’ve come to expect some cast shakeups each year, but there is no denying 2022 has seen one of the biggest years of cast changes in the franchise’s history.

Although Chicago Fire hasn’t had as many cast exits in 2022 as its sister series, the show’s three departures this year have all hit us hard and been incredibly shocking. In fact, we’d go as far as to say that Chicago Fire featured the most heartbreaking exit of the year with the departure of Jimmy Nicholas as Chief Evan Hawkins.
